Cleveland Soaring Society: 2019 Glider Rides
Ride certificates are valid for one year and are fully transferable.
Where are we?
We operate by reservation from Geauga County Airport (7G8) in Middlefield Ohio whenever the conditions allow for pleasure flying. Throughout the flying season (April through November) we also attend aviation events with our aircraft and offer rides where permitted. Individuals and groups of all sizes are welcome.
When do we fly?
We fly glider rides on Saturdays between 9:00 am and noon. Rides can also be scheduled for specific days, with a 7 day advance notice.
Who can ride?
Most shapes and sizes, and certainly all ages. Minors will require a guardian to sign a liability waver. If you have a mobility issue we would like an opportunity to accommodate you. It is likely that if safety is not compromised we will be able to do so. Please call us with your specific needs to discuss solutions.
What should I wear?
Be comfortable! Some good rules of thumb are:
Sandals and flip-flops are not prohibited but they are discouraged for safety reasons. Close-toed comfortable shoes are best. Athletic shoes offer ideal traction and mobility for getting into and out of the glider.
Can I Take Pictures?
Absolutely! Bring your camera! Conventional camera equipment such as hand held devices, phones, camcorders and the like, are not a problem. If you would like us to accommodate something of unusual size please call us first. For safety reasons we may not be able to grant your request.
